The sensor has 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and was presented by the two companies at ISSCC 2020 (see Stacked event-based vision sensor boasts highest HDR). At the time the sensor was claimed to have the industry’s smallest pixel size for this type of sensor (at 4.86 micron by 4.86 micron) and the industry’s highest dynamic range (at over 124dB).

The kit supports the full sensor bandwidth of up to 3Gbps via a USB 3 interface. The EVK provides multiple sensor control including digital pipeline (event signal processor – ESP) and features a C/CS with S-mount adapter. The EVK is compatible with the recently announced Metavision Intelligence Suite version 2.2 to perform a variety of design exploration steps and incorporate customized software application to meet specific market requirements.

“This new EVK will enable system developers in areas such as industrial automation, IoT and manufacturing to get a complete and accurate understanding of how to leverage the performance advantages offered by this innovative architecture, and be ready to deploy machine vision solutions,” said Luca Verre, Prophesee founder and CEO, in a statement.

The EVK is available from Prophesee.
