Merus Audio AS (Herlev, Denmark) was founded in 2010 to develop audio amplifiers based on a multi-level Class-D architecture it calls Eximo. This provides benefits in terms of low power consumption, and low RF interference levels. Additionally, the multi-level approach eliminates the need for the large components that are typically required to filter the output of a conventional amplifier, Merus state. The MA12040 offers 40W of output power per channel.

"High energy efficiency is increasingly required in portable speakers, as well as in home theater systems, soundbars, PC gaming and pro audio products," said Helge Kristensen, vice president of Hansong Technology, in a statement issued by Merus. "Furthermore, we see a general corporate demand for green technology across the audio and electronics industry."

Hans Hasselby-Andersen, CEO of Merus Audio, said Hansong’s focus on high-quality solutions and green technology is an excellent match with Merus Audio’s technology and products."
