The Design and Verification Conference & Exhibition Europe (DVCon Europe) has added two extra keynotes, an extensive technical program and a fully revamped, more user-friendly, 3D virtual reality environment, fully integrated with the regular web-based conferencing system.

The event runs on 26th and 27th October, with SystemC Evolution Day on 28th. The conference includes themes and trends such as digital twin, machine learning, RISC-V, next generation automotive and 5G will be highlighted.

It will include virtual papers, tutorials and panels focused on sharing best practices and industrial application of design and verification methodologies, languages and standards in areas such as:  system-level and software design, model-based and model-supported software design, verification and validation, IP reuse and design automation, functional safety and security, and mixed-signal and low-power design and verification.

The two new keynotes are from Dr Petra Färm, Product Thinker and Talk Show Host at Tolpagorni Product Management, who will present: ‘Speed Layers: Managing the exponential change of technology’, and Andreas Riexinger, Product Manager Automated Driving at Robert Bosch GmbH, whose presentation is entitled, ‘The Mobility of the Future is Software Defined – can open technologies help?’ They join Rashid Attar, VP, Engineering, Qualcomm Technologies, and Satish Sundaresan, Managing Director, Elektrobit India on ‘The Future of Hardware Innovations for AI Systems’ and ‘Virtualization in Future Development’.

This year’s virtual reality environment is a conferencing venue in the heart of Munich, with one large meeting space and quiet side areas for discussion. There are lifts to take attendees to the poster sessions. The main stage is set up for panels which will be run within the virtual space, and all presenters at the conference will be available in the virtual space after their papers, panels or plenaries.  Avatars will be more sophisticated. For example, with some of the pre-built avatars it is now possible for attendees to choose to ’share’ their cameras, allowing the attendee’s ‘live’ face to appear as part of their avatar.

“Last year’s Virtual Experience Rooms were well received and we hope that the revamped environment will be even more engaging, with greater opportunities for discussion and interaction between participants.  Our four keynotes together with our extensive technical program meet the main aim of the conference: to bring hardware and software engineers together,” said Sumit Jha, General Chair of DVCon Europe.

The keynote abstracts and biographies of the keynote speakers with details of the technical program with 24 papers, 13 tutorials, 13 poster presentations and two panels are at  https://dvcon-europe.org/
