Fairchild transfers discrete production to Tower in Japan
The long-term production agreement, making discrete devices for industrial and consumer markets at TowerJazz Panasonic Semiconductor Co. (TPSC), is for thousands of wafers per month and is expected to result in Fairchild becoming one of Tower’s top customers.
"There is excellent collaboration between our two companies and we are experiencing very fast project execution and ramp-up of production of our discrete devices," said Wei-Chung Wang, senior vice president of operations at Fairchild.
"Collaboration between the two companies has enabled record time to mass production. We look forward to enhancing our relationship by providing Fairchild with both specialty TowerJazz and TPSCo technologies and capabilities," said Zmira Shternfeld-Lavie, vice president of process engineering R&D at Tower Semiconductor.
