Family of AC-DC supplies targets harsh environments
Operating in a temperature range from -40°C to 80°C and a universal input from 85-264VAC, 45-440Hz, the Titan 5G provides a regulated 23VDC -32VDC output at 2000W and 80A across the whole operating range with an efficiency of 92% at 70% to 100% loading.
The family supports load sharing mode up to 3 units and uses an RS485 communications bus.
A 3 year warranty and MTBF of 100,000 hours at 40°C means the IP67 rated T5G family is aimed directly at the harsh environment market. It includes integrated input overcurrent circuit breaker protection and reverse polarity battery protection, and measures 143W x 430D x 283H which gives it one of the smallest footprints in the market, says PPI.
With the IR background, PPI have been designing and manufacturing power rectifier, thyristor and latterly IGBT assemblies for over 40 years. It operates in traditional power semiconductor application areas, including rectification equipment for light rail systems, motor drives and controls, resistive load applications such as electric heaters for the oil and gas processing industry, welding systems and cathodic protection.
It is also active in newer technologies that require high power semiconductor control, such as renewable energy systems, LED lighting control and hybrid electric vehicles.
