Farnell element14 to sponsor Renishaw Greenpower team
Over 10,000 students from primary schools to universities take part in the challenge each year. The Greenpower Educational Trust runs the competition to encourage more children to be involved in science and technology.
Renishaw became an event partner of Greenpower to encourage young people to take up innovative design. As Farnell has a similar philosophy, the company decided to sponsor the Renishaw team for this season. As such, the Renishaw cars will display Farnell element14 branding.
Mathew Thorpe, Regional Sales Director for UK and Ireland, Farnell element14, says: “Farnell element14 seeks to provide opportunities for young people to get involved in engineering and encourage them to consider STEM subjects as they further their education. The Greenpower Education Trust, supported by Renishaw, is a fine example of how the industry is working to inspire a future generation of engineers.”
Farnell element14 is also involved in other schemes to try and encourage children to get involved in science and technology, including the Farnell element14 University IoT Challenge and Premier Farnell UK Technology Challenge.
