Wallbox Pro is the second home charging station in the portfolio of BMW i, the carmaker’s EV subsidiary. The Pro version is said to offer a faster charging rate than the plain-vanilla version Wallbox Pure, and it offers a more user-friendly operation. For owners with a solar roof on their home, it also offers options for vehicle charging with home-generated electricity as well as smart home integration features.

The Pro version charges the vehicle at a charging rate of up to 7.4 kW. With the new wall box, the company’s i3 e-car model can be charged in less than three hours to 80% of its capacity. Not only BMW owners benefit from the Wallbox Pro, but also owners of other EV brands, since the box is equipped with the European Type 2 standard connector. A 7" colour touch screen display guides the user through the charging process. The administrator function of the box manages the accounts of maximum three user for accounting and billing purposes. The Wallbox Pro is available as BMW I accessory.
