FSC LCDs feature integrated RGB LED backlights and a COG LCD controller IC. The IC controls both, the LCD as well as the backlight in order to provide simple colour programming for each individual segment / icon. The units are well suited for applications that need to migrate from monochromatic to colour displays as a low cost alternative to full-color graphic TFT and CSTN technology. Applications include alarm clocks, remote control units, industrial meter units, home appliance control units, as well as medical devices.
