Finepower to distribute VisIC high power GaN switches
VisIC Technologies is the only manufacturer globally to produce 1200 V modules, among other types, based on GaN-HEMTs. The deal follows a $10m investment in VisIC to roll out the technology.
The low RDS(on) of the normally-off GaN HEMT transistors are characterized by short switching times and very low switching losses. They are robust and, due to the packaging design, can be thermally optimally integrated. The discrete 650 V GaN transistors and 1200 V modules enable smaller, more efficient DC-Dc onverter designs.
Finepower supports its customers with technological and technical advice on the selection and implementation of system components and also develops application specific modules for industrial and automotive customers up to series production.
