First 3.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz eLTE broadband access network addresses limited spectrum resources
Delivering on its commitment for customer-centric innovations and services, Huawei provided a fully customized eLTE solution for this project, which only uses the radio frequency band of 3.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz, addressing the client’s key challenge of limited spectrum resources. This makes it the first commercial application case of LTE frequency band of 3.6 GHz to 3.8 GHz in the world.
"Huawei is dedicated to extending the benefits of technological advancement to more people in the world, bridging digital divides with our innovations and technical expertise, especially for customers who face prominent challenges such as frequency limitation and areas with less established ICT infrastructures," said Mr. Li Shengli, President of Huawei Enterprise Wireless Broadband.
As customers in such remote areas usually require solutions that are smaller, as well as easier to install and maintain, for this project Huawei provided distributed base stations which can be easily installed onto a pole or on a wall, eliminating the need to build up telecom equipment rooms. The solution also features the eCSN600 core network, which offers 40 Gbps throughput with only 14U in height, significantly reducing installation complexity and costs.
To meet the Ozaworice area’s high requirements for signal coverage and system performance, Huawei optimized the eLTE solution specifically for distance coverage, ensuring stable access from up to 100 km away. Supporting downlink rates of up to 100 Mbps and uplink rates up to 50 Mbps, the network offers sufficient bandwidth to provide smooth internet connections for local residents. Huawei completed the network deployment for the Ozaworice area within two months.
So far, Huawei’s eLTE solution has been widely used in many different application scenarios across multiple industries, including government, energy, oil field, airport and subway, amongst many more.
