The DA1469x family comprises four variants, each adding greater processing power, resources, range and battery life to Dialog’s SmartBond products. The series’ integrated cores have been chosen for their capabilities to sense, process and communicate between connected devices.

The DA1469x product family has a dedicated application processor based on the ARM Cortex-M33 processor to offer greater processing power for intensive applications. The integrated radio on the devices has double the range of its predecessor together with an ARM Cortex-M0+ based software-programmable packet engine to implement protocols and provide flexibility for wireless communications. The series also offers a Sensor Node Controller (SNC), based on a programmable micro-DSP that independently processes data from the sensors connected to its digital and analogue interfaces, offloading tasks from the main Cortex-M33 processor. To support the processors, the SoCs have 512 kByte RAM, memory protection, an FPU, a dedicated crypto engine and expandable memories.

The Power Management Unit (PMU) controls the three processing cores and only activates them when needed. The PMU also provides three regulated power rails and one LDO output to supply external system components. Additionally, the DA169x family offers a range of key interfaces including a display driver, an audio interface, USB, a high-accuracy ADC, a haptic driver capable of driving both ERM and LRA motors as well as a programmable stepping motor controller.
