Cinch Connectivity Solutions has launched the first Johnson Female to Female Bullet Adapters and an industry first supporting connections between the coax SMP and the smaller SMPM connector standards.

The Cinch Johnson Female to Female Bullet Adapters are designed to link SPM to the smaller SMPM RF connectors. These are used in high speed, high performance environments such as laboratory radio frequency (RF) testing and measurement, satellite communication equipment, GPS and phased array antennas, radar systems, remote monitoring communication as well as automated test equipment (ATE).

The interface diameter of the SMPM standard is 33% smaller than SMP and runs up to 65GHz compared to 40GHz.

As a result the VSWR and insertion loss is up to 40 GHz to ensure consistency of performance for the conversion. Both the SMP and SMPM product families are used for higher shock and vibration applications, meeting MIL-STD-348 standards, and can support both interfaces when they are axially or radially misaligned by 0.010 inches.

The Johnson Female to Female Bullet Adapters are available immediately through Cinch for stocking package pricing or modified and custom designs and through Digi-Key, Farnell, Mouser and Newark.
