First successful commercial Moon landing paves way for 4G network
Firefly Aerospace has made the first successful commercial landing on the Moon, just ahead of two other missions aiming to land this week.
The Blue Ghost mission landed safely this morning with ten scientific experiments commissioned by US space agency NASA.
This was launched at the same time as the Japanese Hakuto-2 mission with a micro-rover designed and built in Europe. This is scheduled to land in the next few days having completed a fly-by on Feb 15th. iSpace, the company behind the mission, is working with EdgeCortix on a second generation edge AI system for Moon exploration.

A third mission, IM-2 from Intuitive Machines, is half way to its destination on a more direct trajectory and set to land later this week, on March 6th. This has the 4G basestation developed by Nokia that will connect up two lunar rovers that will explore the same region as the Blue Ghost, the lunar South Pole.
