Five wireless battery-free sensor kits to win
The wireless battery-less sensors are based on passive RFID technology. These tags are compatible with commercial EPC C1G2 UHF RFID readers and can communicate their unique ID and the associated pressure and temperature data within a 1.5 meter range. Farsens’s proprietary RFID IC supplies and communicates with external sensors by harvesting the RF power emitted by the RFID reader. All tags come with a 96bits EPC.
The FenixVortex is a battery-free UHF RFID tag that is able to continuously measure the surrounding instant temperature and transmit the data to the reader. The measurable temperature values range from -30 to 85ºC, with an accuracy of ±2 degrees.
The Kineo measures instant acceleration and checks the orientation of a tagged asset, it transmits the data to a reader together with the 96-bit EPC tag identifier. The measurable acceleration values range from ±2 g to ±16 g, with an accuracy of ±40 mg and an output data rate of 5Hz.
The X1 allows to check the open/closed status of the controlled switch. The X1 has an output data rate of 2 Hz and can be equipped with one of the following three types of connectors for external switches: a 2mm Pitch SIL Latched Vertical Pin Header, a 2mm Pitch Male 1×2 Header or just the 1×2 Header Footprint (pitch 2.00 mm).
The Basic Battery Free Sensor Mix kit given away includes the software for the Sirit IN610, Impinj R420, ThingMagic M6 and Alien ALR-9900 commercial readers and the associated SW documentation. For use with other reader models the SW shall be adapted to the reader APIs (not included in the kit).
