Former Dialog Semi execs head to M&A advisor
Mark Tyndall and Alex McCann, both former senior vice presidents at Dialog Semiconductor plc, have joined finance and corporate strategy advisor Alexa Capital to provide a semiconductor-focused team.
Their former boss, Jalal Bagherli, who was CEO at the mixed-signal and power management specialist Dialog, has become an advisor to the Alexa Capital Insights Council. Dialog was sold to Renesas in August 2021 (see Renesas completes €4.8bn acquisition of Dialog Semiconductor).
The team will focus on helping mid-sized companies within the semiconductor ecosystem to realize their full potential though mergers, acquisitions (M&A) and capital raising.
Alexa Capital CEO Bruce Huber commented: “There is increasing capital flowing into energy technology, including semiconductors, as supply chain security is driving more funding opportunities for emerging technology companies in Europe and North America, who we can now offer increased support to with our expanded team.”
Consolidation time
In a note on his linkedin page Tyndall said: “…our intention is to provide a very specialized service to our clients, bridging the gap between Europe, US and Asia for cross border strategic exits through M&A or easier access to capital.” He added: “…we believe the timing is now perfect to help enable further consolidation in the semiconductor industry especially for private companies.”
Prior to joining Dialog Semiconducor McCann was COO at Linear Technology Corp. and helped negotiate a $14 billion sale of the company to Analog Devices in 2017. McCann is a board member at Probe Test Solutions Ltd.
Tyndall brings experience of senior leadership roles at Dialog Semiconductor, MIPS Technologies and Infineon Technologies. Tyndall is also on the board of directors board of Probe Test Solutions Ltd.
Bagherli was CEO of Dialog Semiconductor for 16 years. Prior to Dialog, Jalal was the CEO of Alphamosaic and previously held senior roles at Sony and Texas Instruments. Bagherli is chairman of Probe Test Solutions Ltd.
