
Beyer was chairman and CEO of Freescale Semiconductor from 2008 to 2012. Prior to this, he held positions as CEO and director of Intersil Corp. and Elantec Semiconductor. In his earlier career Beyer held senior positions at VLSI Technology Inc. and National Semiconductor Corp. and served as an officer in the US Marine Corps. Beyer earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Russian from Georgetown University and a master’s of business administration in marketing and international business from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Since retiring from Freescale Beyer has taken on directorships at Micron Technology Inc. and Dialog Semiconductor plc.
