
Foundries’ March sales up 33% y-on-y
Taiwanese foundries – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and United Microelectronics. Corp. – both achieved sales revenue in March that was up 33.2 percent year-on-year.
Sales revenue at leading foundry TSMC was NT$171.97 billion (about US$5.92 billion), an increase of 17,0 percent from February 2021 and an increase of 33.2 percent from March 2021.
Fellow foundry UMC announced March 2022 sales of NT$22.14 billion (about US$761.9 million) up 33.2 percent from the same month a year before.
TSMC’s sales for the year-to-date – which is the first quarter – were NT$491.08 billion (about US$16.9 billion), up 35.5 percent on the first quarter of 2022. UMC’s sales for the year are NT$63.42 billion (about US$2.18 billion), up 34.7 percent on the first quarter of 2022.
