Foxconn, Socionext and Hailo partner on edge video analytics
The solution will see Foxconn’s BOXiedge edge computing product combined with Socionext’s SynQuacer SC2A11 parallel processor and the Hailo-8 deep learning processor. The combination will offer high energy efficiency for standalone AI inference nodes.
The joint solution has been developed to provide cost-effective multiprocessing capabilities for video analytics, image classifications, and object segmentation. The end product can process and analyze over 20 streaming camera input feeds in real-time at the edge.
Hailo’s specialized Hailo-8 deep learning processor provides up to 26 TOPS and features an architecture that allows edge devices to run sophisticated deep learning applications that could previously only run on the cloud. Its advanced structure translates allows higher performance, lower power, and minimal latency.
The next generation of Foxconn’s BOXiedge AI computing solution features applications for a broader market relying on low latency, a high data rate, high reliability, and quick processing at the edge.
