Foxconn taps Siemens AI to build digital factories
Siemens and Foxconn have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to define standards for the digital factory of the future and manufacturing processes.
Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) is the world’s largest electronics manufacturer, making iPhones and electric vehicles. The smart manufacturing deal with Siemens focuses on standardising global manufacturing processes in electronics, information and communications technology as well as electric vehicles (EV).
This will make use of the technology in the Siemens Xcelerator eco-system, including digital twin and AI technologies for factory automation The areas of collaboration include electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and contract design and manufacturing service (CDMS) for electric vehicles.
