FPCU receives functional safety certification
The certification of the T222 FPCU has been achieved following an in-depth audit performed by SGS-TÜV Saar assessing the quality, rigorousness and completion of Silicon Mobility’s analyses while designing, describing and completing the defined safety goals. OLEA T222 FPCU is a Safety Element out of the Context (SEooC) for defined powertrain applications such as control of inverters/e-motors, DC/DC converters and On- Board-Chargers and electric drive axles.
The OLEA T222 combines the hardware flexibility of a real-time control unit with the software flexibility of a standard processor on a single chip. AMEC integrates parallel data paths between acquisition and actuation peripherals and the Flexible Logic Unit (FLU), an automotive specific and robust embedded programmable logic with DSP resources.

The FPCU concept removes software bottlenecks by enabling software and hardware execution of high frequency and precise PWM control algorithm while limiting heat dissipation. Using Silicon Mobility’s FPCU, user’s control command can be programmed in hardware into FLU and delivers the following performances compared to conventional microcontroller-based solutions. Its specific architecture features 40x acceleration of data processing capabilities, up to 20x faster hard real-time control loops and up to 180x less power consumption.
