FPGA-based prototyping for IP verification and pre-silicon software
The new IP development platform consists of the proFPGA uno motherboard and various pluggable FPGA modules. Users can choose between various proFPGA V7 FPGA Modules, assembled with different Xilinx Virtex 7 FPGA devices like the XC7VX330T, the XC7V585T, the XC7VX690T or XC7V2000T which vary widely in capacity, number and performance of high speed serial transceivers.
The big advantage of the proFPGA concept is its modularity. The user can for example use the proFPGA uno system for IP or design parts development and can reuse the proFPGA FPGA modules for complete SoC and ASIC prototyping by simply plugging the same and proFPGA V7 FPGA modules on a proFPGA duo or quad motherboard. This innovative technology and methodology offers maximum reusability and highest return on invest.
Assembled with a proFPGA Xilinx Virtex 7 XC7V2000T FPGA module the uno system offers a capacity of up to 12 M ASIC gates and 8 extension sites, with a total of up to 1100 free FPGA I/Os for adapting standard proFPGA daughter boards or application specific extension boards like DDR3 memory, USB 3.0, GB Ethernet or PCIe Gen3. The proFPGA uno runs at a maximum system speed of up to 400 MHz, with single ended point to point performance of up to 1.0 Gb/s and 13.1 Gb/s achieved over multi-gigabit transceivers.
