Freescale and ESIEE Paris open second teaching lab targeting multicore technology
The teaching lab will be equipped with Freescale’s ARM CortexTM A-9 Quad-core i.MX controllers and will benefit from the company’s latest technologies to support and develop students interested in the above mentioned engineering disciplines.
The multicore technology lab is under the leadership of Professors Mohamed Akil, Eva Dokladalova and Thierry Grandpierre. The lab features the i.MX6Q Quad-core Sabre Board for Smart Devices (MCIMX6Q-SDB) as the primary hands-on hardware for the students attending the lab. It is used to carry out hands-on training in RISC architectures and optimizations, multicore and GPU optimization, and embedded multimedia topics for students in fourth and fifth years of their engineering degree programs. As a complement to the lab, Freescale experts will provide lectures and presentation support at the university to help ensure that students and professors receive a comprehensive course.
