These G.fast transformers can be matched with a Microsemi line driver and used with Broadcom’s BCM652xx DSP and BCM659xx AFE chipsets for G.fast transmission. These transformers enable Broadcom’s chipsets to deliver high-speed broadband access for broadcast-quality multi-stream IPTV, voice, data, and home networking. The chipset technology drives data rates up to 150 Mbps/downstream and 100 Mbps/upstream on a single line.

The transformers are built on a very small platform of 8 x 8 x 10 mm with a low leakage inductance of less than 0.4 μH. G.fast is the newly approved ultra-broadband DSL standard from the ITU for local loops shorter than 500m. Pulse’s BX4500LNL transformer is packaged in trays while the BX4500LNLT is packaged in tape and reel. Both types are RoHs-6 compliant SMD products and EN60950 functional isolation compliant to 250Vrms.
