Gigabit module offers powerful interfaces for rail digitisation

By eeNews Europe

Railway operators have decided on Cat. 7A as a high transmission speed standard in the 1 GHz frequency range. The Han Gigabit Module meets this standard and offers better signal integrity than the previous Cat. 6A standard. Protection from interference is also improved as Cat. 7A cables consist of four individually screened wire pairs which are surrounded by another screen braid.

The new Han Gigabit Module enables Cat. 7A transmission with shock and vibration resistant interface according to DIN EN 61373, Category II. The module allows the installation of an Ethernet backbone for future facilities, upgrades and conversion of rail vehicles.
