GigE Vision line scan cameras use PoE
F-Mount, C-Mount, and M42-Mount lens configurations are also new and dual-line monochrome and colour formats will be available in the future.
GigE Vision was developed as a global camera interface standard that operates using Gigabit Ethernet for fast image transfer and cheaper, standard cables over longer distances. The updated FS Series uses GigE Vision with Power over Ethernet (PoE) to allow the supply of power and image data transfer over a single Ethernet cable. The combination of the Ethernet-based technologies will reduce system costs and simplify installation and setup.
The new cameras have also been designed to provide Precision Time Protocol (PTP), enabling more precise multi-camera triggering throughout the whole system. PTP lowers the latency if multiple cameras on the same system are triggered at the same time. The new cameras also feature a small design and a 58 x 58 mm frame to allow them to be used in a wide range of applications These applications include optical scanning, waterfall sorting, web and print inspection, flat panel inspection, and pick-and-place.The new cameras are the first GigE Vision line scan cameras that Omron has released.
