The two companies will co-develop integrated packaging solutions that span the range from fab processes to assembly and test, aimed at multiple customers and end-market sectors. They also will expand and existing licensing relationship in lead-free bump packaging.
Amkor is a founding member of what GlobalFoundries calls its Global Alliance for Advanced Assembly Solutions, targeting interconnect, assembly and packaging technologies.
