Green Hills and Real Time Logic partner for secure Web middleware
The integration provides fast, graphically rich, and interactive web applications tailored for security and safety-critical, resource-constrained devices targeting industrial control, military and medical – delivering significant reductions in development and production cost while improving time-to-market.
Today’s embedded developers are expected to deliver the same GUI-rich, connected and interactive experience common on the latest smartphones and tablets in addition to incorporating proven security, safety and deterministic performance, all this despite the limitations of minimal resources that is typical in these connected devices. To reduce the overall cost of ownership, Barracuda Application Server bundles all the tools needed for web server development, connectivity and security, saving engineers the enormous challenge of building or modifying enterprise-level security and functionality on compact, low-power embedded devices.
The Real Time Logic products are available directly from Green Hills Software pre-integrated and validated with the INTEGRITY real-time operating system including the Barracuda Application Server and Web Server, SharkSSL SSL/TLS client/server, PikeHTTP client and the Micro Server.
“We are excited to partner with Green Hills Software and make our products available on its popular INTEGRITY RTOS, the industry’s leading operating system for certified safety and security,” said Wilfred Nilsen, chief executive officer, Real Time Logic. “This partnership enables our mutual customers to develop dynamic, data-rich, connected devices that are smart and secure. Our web application development tools running on the industry’s most reliable and secure operating system delivers the resources to fast-track development of demanding device-based web applications whether they involve machine-to-machine or human-to-machine data exchange.”
“As electronic and mobile products continue their inexorable transformation from standalone devices to powerful connected constituents of home, enterprise, and global networks, developers require integrated and connected systems software solutions that support the latest networking standards,” said Dan Mender, vice president of business development at Green Hills Software. “Real Time Logic’s web protocols enable users of INTEGRITY-based devices to develop secure, full-featured, interoperable networked services.”
