Grenoble IoT event adds startup pitchfest
The business forum dedicated to connected objects is intended to address technological, financial and societal challenges and will take place at Grenoble’s Alpes-Congrès convention center. Supporters of the conference include Intel, Cisco, Microsoft, STMicroelectronics, Orange, HP, LoRa Alliance, SigFox, Gemalto, Oberthur and others, IoT Planet said.
At the same event the IEEE is offering startups the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to industry executives. Startup companies already registered include: AIM, BluemintLabs, Calao-systems, Chronocam, Effinnov , Fieldcloud, GreenWaves, Gulplug, Hap2U, Ineso, Isandlatech, Linkio, Maya IoT Technologies, Nivolog, Pulse Origin, Spinalcom and VigiWave, according to main event organizers IoT Planet.
Bluemint Labs is the maker of a gesture recognition technology called Bixi. The company is being incubated by STMicroelectronics, Grenoble. Chroncam (Paris, France) is developing sensors and systems for machine vision based on an asynchronous pixel sensor technology and attended a similar pitchfest held alongside Semicon Europa in Dresden in October (see Asynch image sensor boosts machine vision). The IoT Planet conference is divided into seven sessions: an introductory session to portray data transmission networks and how to secure them, followed by sessions on specific IoT ecosystems such as energy, transport, industry, wearables, healthcare and smart home.
Organizations slated to make presentations during the conference include: ARM, Cisco, Gemalto, IMEC, Intel, Kaspersky, LoRa Alliance, Microsoft, Minalogic, Semtech, Siemens, SigFox, STMicroelectronics, Wind River, Wipro and Yole.
