The instruments also automatically adjust vertical scaling and zeroing settings, and a degaussing function is activated directly on the instrument. The current probe receives power over the R&S probe interface, eliminating the need for an external power supply. They provide non-contact, isolated current measurements. At 100 MHz bandwidth, the R&S RT-ZC20B can measure AC and DC to a maximum 30 Arms/50 Apeak current with a resolution of 10 mA and with low noise. Combined with the oscilloscopes’ 16 bit high definition option, currents of less than 1 mA can also be measured. This suits the current probe for numerous power electronics applications, especially for evaluating switched-mode power supplies that require measurement of high frequency current components.
