HCLSoftware has announced plans to acquire Jaspersoft from Cloud Software Group, strengthening its push into embedded analytics and reporting. The deal is aimed squarely at expanding the company’s Data & AI portfolio with pixel-perfect reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
The move is a clear signal of how enterprise software vendors are responding to growing demand for trusted analytics, especially in regulated industries. It also highlights how embedded BI is becoming a core differentiator for data platforms used by engineers and architects across Europe.
Expanding the Data & AI portfolio
HCLSoftware, the software business division of HCLTech, said the acquisition will enhance its Data & AI division, built around Actian. Actian has seen strong growth over the past five years, driven by demand for metadata management, data catalog and governance tools.
By adding Jaspersoft, HCLSoftware plans to offer an end-to-end data management and analytics experience. Jaspersoft is well known for its pixel-perfect reporting and embedded dashboards, and is widely used in sectors such as government, banking and financial services where compliance and consistency are critical.
The acquisition also brings access to a large global developer community building and extending modern data platforms, something HCLSoftware sees as key to scaling adoption.
Embedded analytics meets GenAI
“As GenAI adoption accelerates, our customers want business intelligence solutions that can deliver consistent analytics and reports and offer flexibility to fully own the analytics experience,” said Marc Potter, CEO Actian & Portfolio General Manager of HCLSoftware’s Data & AI division. “With Jaspersoft, Actian will provide seamless AI-powered embedded analytics with strong architectural flexibility, allowing high-volume pixel-perfect reports and interactive dashboards to be seamlessly integrated into customer-facing applications, driving scalable self-service business intelligence.”
From the seller’s perspective, the move is also positioned as a strategic fit. “Jaspersoft has earned the trust of organizations worldwide through its embedded analytics capabilities,” said Steven Schneider, General Manager of Analytics business unit at Cloud Software Group. “We believe HCLSoftware is a strong strategic owner for the business and look forward to Jaspersoft continuing to serve customers under HCLSoftware’s ownership.”
The transaction is expected to close within six months of signing.
