The HDBaseT alliance, with more than 200 members today, develops and markets HDBaseT as a standard for wired connectivity, both in the professional AV sector and in the automotive sector. HDBaseT Automotive enables the transmission of audio/video, Ethernet and other control data, also via USB and including power supply via a single unshielded twin wire with bandwidths in the multi-gigabit range.

The HDBaseT Automotive Work Group has joined the alliance and is responsible for the standardization of HDBaseT automotive technology. The task of the working group is to further develop and establish the standard – from the identification and planning in the areas of infotainment, ADAS, cybersecurity and connectivity to the creation and publication of specifications.

HDBaseT is a global standard for digital connectivity. Founded in 2010 by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and chipmaker Valens, the alliance has brought together the leading names in consumer electronics, professional AV, electronics and automotive under one roof. Members of the HDBaseT Alliance include Aptiv, Harman, Leoni, Panasonic and Teledyne LeCroy.
