The EA PLUGS102-6 is not only a display, but also a fully-fledged operating unit with a wide range of interfaces. Its 36×25 mm display area has a resolution of 102×64 pixels. Since every pixel of an OLED is a light source, this panel scores with unrivalled low black levels, strong contrasts and brilliant color compared to comparable LCD displays. OLEDs are unaware of the LCD’s typical weak contrast at oblique viewing angles, so they can do this from any viewing direction at almost 180°. A separate backlight is not necessary. The display brightness can be adjusted via software. Automatic screen saver modes prevent the possible burning in of static image content.

The OLED module can be put into operation quickly and easily via the integrated USB interface. Data transfer is serial, optionally via USB, SPI, RS232 or I2C connection.

For measurement and control tasks, the EA PLUGS102-6 has eight freely configurable digital I/O interfaces, two analog inputs and one PWM and one analog output.

The EA PLUGS102-6 understands high-level language-like graphic commands, which can also be controlled without prior knowledge. In addition to eight integrated fonts, the display has a number of sophisticated graphics functions. The time-consuming development of character sets and graphic routines is not necessary. Text and graphic elements can be mixed with each other at will, they can be positioned pixel-precisely and provided with flashing attributes (on/off, inverse). Up to 256 images and as many macros can be stored in the internal memory.

The OLED module measures 55x54x15 mm. Its supply voltage, if not supplied via USB, may be between 3.3 and 5 V. The OLED module can also be used as a power supply. If all pixels are on, it typically requires 137 mA or 97 mA respectively. Its operating temperature is between -20 and 70 °C. For quick mounting, it is simply glued upright or across the front panel.
