High-output IPMs offer low power loss and compact package for motor control systems
V1 Series IPMs are single packages of multiple chips, including power chips using insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBT) and their driving circuits, as well as a variety of protection circuits.
The module claims to reduced inverter power loss by 15% and features two IGBT chips which are carrier-stored trench gate bipolar transistors (CSTBT) developed by Mitsubishi Electric.
The 600-V/800-A model which has been added to the V1 Series helps enlarge output volume. The model fits in a small package (120- × 90-mm) that will accommodate small motor control system designs.
The modules offers enhanced heat protection and are capable of monitoring the temperature of IGBT chips. V1 Series IPMs are compliant with the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) for electrical and electronic equipment.
