High-power TVS diodes for AC/DC power line applications
Bourns has added to its high power TVS diodes for use in DC bus protection applications. The new models deliver high current bidirectional port protection that meets IEC 61000-4-5 8/20 µsec current surge requirements and are RoHS compliant. Models PTVS6-058C-TH and PTVS6-076C-TH provide enhanced temperature performance for greater system stability and increased reliability. Designed using advanced silicon technology, Bourns’ new devices offer lower clamping voltage under surge compared to Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) technology. In Bourns’ testing, the new models have exhibited an excellent surge response versus temperature; the typical maximum surge current at 150°C is 75% of their rated value at 25°C.
Bourns designed these high power TVS diodes with enhanced temperature performance to meet robust circuit protection requirements that offer superior protection against power line surges and indirect lightning strikes in AC and DC power line applications. Both models provide very high surge current protection with a peak pulse current rating of 6 kA. The Model PTVS6-058C-TH features a 58V standoff voltage and the model PTVS6-076C-TH has a 76 V standoff voltage.
PTVS6-058C-TH and PTVS6-076C-TH are priced at $13.78 each in 10 piece quantities and $12.60 each in 500 piece quantities, respectively.
