High reliability 64Gbit CompactFlash card
The reliability of the C-400 is achieved through well designed wear leveling, read disturb management and a BCH-ECC (Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem-Codes) unit, which can correct up to 24 bits per 1024 bytes using a tried-and-tested procedure. The “Power Fail” secure C-400 series with optimized TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) is aimed at numerous sectors, including industry and automation, medicine, transportation and communication/networks.
SLC (Single Level Cell) flash storage cells, which have been evaluated and tested at an extremely high level, and specially optimized algorithms for flash handling also help to ensure the extremely high level of reliability provided by the new C-400 series. Thanks to S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) protocols and Life Time Monitoring, users are always aware of the actual condition of the CompactFlash cards, which means sudden and unexpected failures can be avoided. The SMART values enable 100% transparency while reducing field problems to a minimum in combination with other monitoring methods. If requested by the customer, Swissbit can also add additional command sets to these monitoring mechanisms in order to provide even more transparency.
The Low Power C-400 CompactFlash(TM) cards have a maximum power consumption of 0.6W. They include UDMA6 (Ultra-Direct Memory Access), which provides data transfer rates of up 65 MB/s, and are compatible with the CF Specification Rev. 5.0, 4.1 & 3.0.
The C-400 series, which has been designed for temperature ranges of -40°C to 85°C and 0°C to 70°C, will be available from April with storage densities of between 2 and 64GB. Smaller densities will be available at a later date. In accordance with the Swissbit philosophy, long-term availability with a fixed BOM (Bill of Materials) as well as shock and
vibration resistance are guaranteed. Swissbit Design-In is also available to provide support with its own inhouse system and storage specialists.
