The KAI-43140 uses a 4.5 µm Interline Transfer CCD (ITCCD) pixel to increase resolution by 50% over the previous 5.5 µm design. The sensor can support frame rates of up to 4fps using the 1, 2, or 4 output readout architecture. The KAI-43140 is package and pin-compatible with the 29 MP KAI-29050 and KAI-29052 image sensors, providing an easy upgrade solution for new product varieties.

On Semiconductor will also provide evaluation kits for the KAI-43140 and other sensors. These kits will provide full evaluation of the sensor’s capabilities, including stills and video capture, ROI readout and pixel binning.
