The CC2540T is a complete solution for easier development with the company’s BLE-Stack software and sample applications including over-the-air download support for in-field updates.

Bluetooth Smart brings a host of new features and benefits to industrial applications making it easier to get information and control systems via smartphone or tablet, bypassing more manual and often complicated systems including:

  1. Small form factor, low power connectivity for industrial and consumer lighting;
  2. Wireless human machine interface (HMI) and remote display saves costs, improves user experiences and enables remote display, monitoring and debugging;
  3. Storage of personalized preferences, such as operator setups and ergonomic details, on your mobile device;
  4. Transfer maintenance-related data to and from difficult-to-reach equipment via a mobile device for sending updates, such as firmware and calibration values;
  5. Cable replacement of RS-232, RS-485 or USB connections with moderate throughputs (<100 kbps) including motor drive and control can use Bluetooth Smart transmission.

Development tools, software, documentation and TI E2E support enable easier and faster development. Engineers can get a demo up and running in five minutes with the SimpleLink SensorTag

The integrated, true single-chip Bluetooth low energy device offers increased link robustness in crowded 2.4 GHz environment. The extended temperature range allows for lighting designs with high junction temperature and any other designs requiring to work in conditions above 85°C.

With a 97dB link budget, the device offers a link reliability that enables long-range applications without an external front end. Further, the wireless MCU integrates RF and MCU, 256KB of embedded Flash, royalty-free TI BLE-Stack protocol stack, profile software and sample applications.
