High voltage programmable DC power supplies offer floating output capability
The FL provides high power density of 1.5 kW in a 1U package, not typically seen in power supplies above 600 V and therefore allows design engineers more flexibility, particularly when space is at a premium. Robust in design, the FL Series can easily withstand demanding industrial applications such as plasma coating or ion sources, together with laboratory environments of all kinds.
Available in 750 Vdc, 1000 Vdc, 1250 Vdc and 1500 Vdc variants, FL series power supplies include a universal (90 – 264 Vac) input. Either output terminal can be grounded for operation as a positive or negative supply. Front panel digital encoders provide high resolution local adjustment of voltage and current program. The embedded microcontroller and built-in RS-232, RS-485 and USB communications – a standard feature on all models in the series – provides remote control programming and monitoring with 12 bit accuracy. Ethernet is also available as an option. Full analogue capability has been retained and the user can select 0-5 V or 0-10 V analogue programming and monitors if desired.
The FL Series 1U rack mount power supplies save space as they can be stacked directly one on top of the other should increased output power be required. Up to four identical units can be field strapped for parallel operation with a user configurable master and active current sharing.
Input is 90-264 VAC continuous, single-phase, 48-63 Hz. The RMS input current at rated power is less than 20 A at 100 VRMS input and less than 11 A at 200 VRMS input. Output power is linearly de-rated from 100% to 90% between 100 V and 90 V input. Inrush current is 30 A maximum peak, 90 to 264 VAC. Output is continuous, stable adjustment, from 0 to rated voltage or current by panel mounted optical rotary encoder or by external, user selectable, 0 to +5 V or 0 to +10 V signals. Voltage accuracy is 0.5% of setting + 0.2% of rated. Current accuracy is 0.5% of setting + 0.2% of rated. Voltage and Current programming ranges are selected by switches that are accessible from the rear panel. Optical rotary encoder resolution is 1 V and 1 mA in fine adjustment mode and 10 V and 10 mA in the default coarse adjustment mode.
Compliance with RoHS and CE international standards allows the user to integrate the FL Series into products as an approved component, reducing the burden placed on engineering and compliance departments.
A high power 3 kW version is now also available as the 2U rack mountable EV series
