Highly-integrated, industrial Ethernet silicon support for ModbusTCP
The fido5000 REM Switch chip is configured via software driver as a ModbusTCP device and can support cycle times less than 500 µsec. The RapID Platform – ModbusTCP Network Interface is delivered as a module or embedded design that supports cycle times down to 1 msec. Both products are self-certified using the latest versions of ModbusTCP test tools and will ship by the end of February 2016.
The fido5000 REM Switch chip provides 2-port Ethernet connectivity for the ModbusTCP protocol using any processor hosting any ModusTCP stack. The RapID Platform – ModbusTCP Network Interface uses the fido5000 REM switch to provide a host processor with a ready-to-use ModbusTCP device solution. This solution supports all the necessary function codes and the full 64k address space for all registers and coils. There is also an option to mirror the Input registers with the Holding registers for added flexibility. A dynamic embedded webserver eanbles users to view or edit network parameters and I/O data via customisable webserver content.
“Extending our fido5000 REM switch chip and RapID Platform to ModbusTCP shows the range and versatility of our Industrial Ethernet solutions.” says Chris Stelmar, Innovasic’s Lead Field Application Engineer. “These same hardware solutions can handle a protocol as simple as ModbusTCP and as complex as EtherCAT.”
