HighTec supports GigaDevice ARM controllers
HighTec EDV-Systeme in Germany has announced the full support of its C/C++ compiler suite for the GD32A7x ARM-based automotive microcontrollers from GigaDevice.
HighTec’s C/C++ development tools are built on the LLVM open-source compiler technology and enables automotive software developers to take full advantage of the additional modules and controllers in the GD32A7x 32bit ARM automotive chips.
The ISO 26262 ASIL D qualified compiler generates optimized target code for safety-critical applications such as body control, zone control and ADAS assistant driving systems.
GigaDevice’s GD32A7x series uses the ARM Cortex-M7 core with a Global Time Management (GTM) and Multi Channel Sequencer (MCS) module. There is also built-in hardware multiplier/divider, DSP instruction set and single-precision floating-point unit (FPU) which improves processing efficiency for high-performance and low-power applications.
The LLVM C/C++ Compiler Suite can be used as a standalone tool or within the HighTec IDE for C programming for the latest GTM 4.1 IP for timing off-load for these applications.
“HighTec enriches our ecosystem for automotive customers with its proven C/C++ compiler suite”, says Monica He, Head of Automotive Products Department at GigaDevice. “The advanced capabilities of HighTec’s compiler enable automotive software developers to fully leverage the GD32A7’s capabilities and build a highly optimized, reliable and high-performing code.”
“With the partnership with GigaDevice, we can help customers with our safety certified HighTec C/C++ compiler to speed up and optimize their development process for automotive safety applications based on GigaDevice’s GD32A7 SoCs while ensuring safety, security and performance,” says Mario Cupelli, CTO at HighTec EDV-Systeme.
