Huawei is the world’s largest telecom equipment maker but has had a chequered history in the US with allegations that it posed a security threat as it could provide backdoor access to its equipment to Chinese government agencies.
The disagreement with T-Mobile US has been running since June 2014 and concerns 14 patents and whether the terms previously offered by Huawei are fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND), according to the report.
Huawei is not seeking a financial judgement but an acceptance that its offer meets FRAND requirements.
