The UNO-4683 joins Advantech’s UNO-4673A computer which is based on a low-power consumption ATOM D510 dual-core processor. Both computers run in regular operation at 100% CPU loads at operating temperatures of -20° to + 70°C. The fanless UNO-4683 comes in a compact 2U rackmount form factor with wide power supply options in AC (from 100 to 240 VAC) and DC (from 106 to 250 VDC).
The uni comes as standard with six Ethernet ports with LAN redundant teaming functionality, six USB ports, and two RS-232/422/485 isolated serial ports. The three configurable domain I/O expansion slots are open for users to select the UNOP modules to meet their application needs. They are the modules for Fiber-optic LAN (UNOP-1514C), non-isolated serial port (UNOP-1618D), isolated serial port (UNOP-1628D) and IRIG-B with isolated serial ports (UNOP-1624D).

UNOP modules are also compliant with the IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards. The UNOP modules are specifically designed for the UNO-4673A and UNO-4683 and are slotted in to the three configurable I/O expansion slots of the UNO-4673A/4683. Already available are modules for PCI, PCI-104, Mini-PCI, Mini-PCI-express and hard disk drives that support RAID 0 and 1. Together with the hard disk drive and PCI/PCIe options, the modular approach allows system designers to use the same platform for every computing application in the substation.
