The programme comprises a series of keynote presentations and talks by research-team leaders from imec’s own staff, and by industry experts from some of the many companies and academic bodies who participate in imec’s research. The outline programme comprises;

  • Keynote – Young Sohn – president and chief strategy officer, Samsung

  • “Towards a smart electricity network” – Jef Poortmans – scientific director photovoltaics, imec / professor, KU Leuven

  • Keynote: The next big wireless wave – the tactile internet? – Gerhard Fettweis – head of the Vodafone Chair Mobile Communications Systems, TU Dresden

  • “Consumerizing healthcare: killer-apps that save lives” – Julien Penders – program manager body area networks, imec/Holst Centre

  • Keynote by Vincent Schächter – vice president R&D, Total New Energies

  • “The plastic revolution for electronics” – Paul Heremans – technology director, Holst Centre / fellow, imec

There will also be opportunities to meet with imec’s researchers; imec anticipates attendees will include R&D and managers from IDMs, system houses, foundries, fabless and fablite companies, equipment and material suppliers, medical device manufacturers, universities and research institutes from all over the world, as well as local and European policy makers.
