The integration of eXtremeDB is said to be a major upgrade to Patton’s custom Linux-based Trinity embedded operating system, it will manage configuration data including IP addresses, routes, dynamic host configuration protocol settings and others that are entered via devices’ command line and web interfaces.
Earlier versions of Trinity used an open-source CORBA software component to manage configuration data. After reviewing several alternatives, Patton concluded that eXtremeDB most closely fitted its needs.
