Industrial networking module enables “IoT retrofits”
The module’s TruPort Serial technology, along with hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption, provides secure serial data communication. Its 18 x 31 mm footprint enables integration into virtually any industrial design, and provides, “an extremely easy way to add wired networking to an existing design.”
The xPico 110 has two UART interfaces, one of which can be used to connected to virtually any 8-, 16- or 32-bit microcontroller. The on board, secure TCP/IP stack helps simplify application firmware design and improves security and reliability. The integrated web server and network services provide a range of connectivity features. Eight GPIO pins are available to be programmed by the user.
Using Lantronix TruPort technology, the xPico 110 supports many fieldbus protocols, including Modbus. Serial data for industrial applications can be passed through the network transparently and reliably. Onboard NIST-certified 256-bit AES encryption provides secure network communications. An on-module PHY helps simplify connector integration. Specifically designed for industrial environments, the xPico operates from -40°C to 85°C and comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty.
