Industrial sensor measures very small forces
The trend towards miniaturization is unstoppable. This presents manufacturers and suppliers with major challenges: They have to handle very fine and light parts with extreme precision. Precise force measurement is necessary for the production of such small components. For these applications Kistler Group, a company specializing in the measurement of pressure, force, torque and acceleration, has expanded its existing range of force sensors. The new piezoelectric force sensor Type 9323AAA is a further development of the 9323 product family and is particularly suitable for the calibration of force sensors installed in production machines.
The sensor has a sensitivity of -32 pC/N and enables the precise measurement of forces smaller than 5 Newton (N). For this purpose, the measurement technology specialists at Kistler have developed a new crystal. This is grown at the company’s headquarters in Winterthur (Switzerland) and installed in the sensor housing of the 9323 product family. The new sensor thus benefits from the advantages of the established models, such as the proven immunity to acting lateral forces and bending moments.
With its high-precision measuring range, the 9323AAA is ideal for measuring very low forces in highly dynamic production processes where high accuracy is required. The new force sensor is now globally available.
