Industry-first 277-V thermistor supports LED lighting applications
The device is also suitable for supporting power factor correction (PFC) circuits as well as inrush current control in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) with ratings under 500 W.
Ametherm’s SL10 10003 thermistor claims to feature the highest energy, continuous current, and ambient temperature ratings for any device in its size and class. The device handles steady state current up to 3 A with a maximum received energy rating of 17 J. The device features a dissipation constant of 11 mW/°C and can handle a body temperature of 151°C at 100% of its maximum current rating. Maximum capacitance at the device’s 277 V voltage rating is 200 μF.
The SL10 10003 provides a more compact alternative to larger NTC devices or the more expensive combination of a power resistor, relay and timer or implementation of the same functionality with active circuits.
The SL10 10003 thermistor is available direct or through distributors such as Mouser, Digi-Key, Newark element14, and Farnell. Samples and production quantities of the SL10 10003 are available now, with factory lead times of four to five weeks.
