Infineon drives edge-computing-based applications with AWS
Infineon’s XMC4000 32-bit MCUs now support Amazon FreeRTOS, an operating system that makes small, low-power edge devices easy to program, deploy, secure, connect, and manage.
The new generation XENSIV sensors, which include radar, pressure sensors and MEMS microphones, come with OPTIGA hardware security solutions to provide secure operation for IoT applications. The Infineon-enabled solutions can improve quality of life and deliver substantial cost savings.
For example, Infineon’s XMC4800 family connectivity kit WiFi runs on AWS. The development platform brings edge-computing services to a higher level of interaction and includes WiFi connectivity and ETHERCAT. XMC4800 devices are powered by Cortex ARM M4F MCUs. They also offer up to six standard CAN and ETHERCAT interfaces, for IoT gateway applications in Arduino and Click Board compatible form factors. This combination in parallel with AWS Greengrass software enables easy development and the cloud capability provided by AWS.
