The trusted platform module (TPM) is a specified part of the security architecture of Google Chromebooks and Infineon is the first supplier of TPM chips, Infineon (Munich, Germany) claimed.

Infineon offers hardware and software products for Trusted Computing in compliance with the specifications published by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG). Infineon’s TPM has passed the TCG’s certification process and achieved the Common Criteria EAL 4+ certification. In addition to the TPM chip, Infineon provides its TPM professional package security software offering initialization, management and application support.

"Google recognizes the critical importance of security for people who live on the web and has designed its Chrome OS application platforms accordingly," said Helmut Gassel, head of the chip card and security division at Infineon, in a statement.
