Infineon, TTTech Auto show computing platform for autonomous driving up to Level5
The new platform, which focuses on automated systems, is based on Infineon’s Aurix TC397XM microcontroller and TTTech Auto’s MotionWise security software platform. The first generation of Infineon’s Aurix microcontroller and TTTech Auto’s MotionWise safety software platform are integral parts of Audi’s zFAS piloted driving control computer, first used in the Audi A8. TTTech Auto has optimized its proven MotionWise product for the new and more powerful second generation Aurix microcontroller from Infineon, the TC397XM, which is already in series production.
The second generation of the solution is based on hardware that meets the ASIL-D safety level according to the ISO 26262 standard and is optimized for safety-critical applications. In ASIL-D applications, it offers improved computing performance, a more comprehensive set of peripherals and extended safety measures. MotionWise enables fail-operational performance, interference-free operation and “safety-by-design” with the highest ASIL levels for the platform. Each MotionWise hosted application is isolated from the others. This creates a secure environment for applications with different security and real-time requirements running side-by-side. This enables seamless application integration.
By working closely with key players in the automotive industry on long-term production projects, both companies have already gained extensive experience. As a key component in more than 25 car models since 2017, the first generation of the joint solution has created valuable synergies for series production. Several customers have already tested the second generation of this software/hardware combination and are using it in their ADAS series programs, for which production is scheduled to start in 2019.
